Chelsea was adopted by Rosie in 1997, and her childhood was initially marked by the spotlight accompanying her famous mother's celebrity status. However, as she grew older, her relationship with Rosie became strained, particularly following a period when she went missing from her New York home, only to be found later and deciding to live with her birth mother, Deanna Micoley, in Wisconsin.
Her recent arrest, which occurred on November 18 in Niagara, Wisconsin, followed previous arrests in September and October for similar allegations related to drug offenses. At the time of this latest arrest, Chelsea was out on a $4,000 bail, courtesy of her birth mother.
The circumstances leading to her most recent legal troubles began with a routine traffic stop due to a loud exhaust. Police officers, after noting physical signs indicative of drug use on Chelsea, conducted a search, which resulted in the discovery of a smoking device containing methamphetamine residue, as well as Naloxone, a medication used to counter opiate overdoses.
Chelsea now faces multiple charges, including two felony counts of methamphetamine possession and one count of felony narcotic drug possession. Additional misdemeanor charges include possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.
Rosie O'Donnell has publicly acknowledged her daughter's struggles with addiction, expressing hope for her recovery. Despite their estrangement, it is evident that Rosie remains concerned for Chelsea's well-being. As Chelsea awaits her next court date on December 12, the family hopes this will serve as a turning point in her life journey.
