Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Settle 8-Year Divorce Battle
Angelina Jolie , Brad PittAfter an arduous legal battle spanning eight years, Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally reached a divorce settlement. The ex-couple, once dubbed "Brangelina", were among the most glamorous pairs in Hollywood before their split.
Jolie's lawyer, James Simon, confirmed the completion of the settlement on December 30, acknowledging the long and difficult process. "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family", Simon remarked. "This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over".
The couple, who married in 2014 after nearly a decade together, have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. The split in 2016 followed a private plane incident that led to allegations of abuse, which Pitt has denied and was cleared of by the FBI and DCFS investigation.
The protracted divorce proceedings were further complicated by disputes over custody and the sale of Jolie’s stake in their shared winery, Château Miraval. Despite a judge awarding Pitt joint custody in 2021, that decision was later reversed due to a conflict of interest related to the judge.
The resolution of the divorce, however, still leaves questions about their ongoing financial disputes, particularly concerning Château Miraval, where they married. Jolie’s sale of her share in the winery led to further legal action by Pitt.
While Brad’s legal team has yet to comment on the final settlement, this development marks the end of one of Hollywood’s most publicized splits, allowing both parties to potentially move forward with their personal and professional lives.
