Jack Antonoff Lies to Adam Sandler to Secure Wife Margaret Qualley a Role in 'Happy Gilmore 2'

In an amusing turn of events, Jack Antonoff, renowned music producer known for collaborations with artists like Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, went to great lengths to support his wife, actress Margaret Qualley, by bending the truth to Adam Sandler. Margaret Qualley, who has long admired Sandler and his work, particularly his classic comedy 'Happy Gilmore', was determined to land a role in the much-anticipated sequel.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on September 24, Qualley shared how her husband helped her achieve her dream. Despite her lack of golfing skills—a critical aspect of the film given its golf-heavy storyline—Antonoff assured Sandler via text that Qualley was "actually good" at golf.

Margaret, who had previously told her agents that she was eager to be part of the sequel no matter how small the role, said, "I can die happy now," after being cast, albeit in a minor part. "I never golfed a day in my life," she admitted on the show, laughing about her husband's fib.

Sandler, who began the movie's production recently, was impressed with the spirit and tenacity of Qualley, who took some golf lessons to prepare for her role, although she still considers herself "terrible" at the sport.

Apart from Margaret Qualley, the sequel also stars original cast members Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, alongside new additions Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny, Benny Safdie, and golf legend Lee Trevino. With production rolling in New Jersey, fans of the original 1996 hit are eagerly awaiting the film's release, excited to see how the story of their beloved characters continues.
