Keke Palmer Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Challenges on 'Scream Queens' Set
Keke PalmerIn her upcoming memoir "Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative", actress Keke Palmer shares candid accounts of challenging experiences she faced while filming the Fox horror-comedy series "Scream Queens". The book, which is set to release on November 19, uncovers behind-the-scenes incidents with series co-creator Ryan Murphy and an unnamed co-star.
Palmer, who starred in the show for its two-season run from 2015 to 2016, describes a contentious interaction with Ryan Murphy due to a scheduling conflict. According to Palmer, she found herself in trouble after production altered the shooting schedule, conflicting with prior commitments she had made on what was originally a day off. Despite the schedule change, Palmer chose to honor her original plans, a decision that allegedly led to Murphy "ripping" into her for being unprofessional.
While she thought the matter was settled after apologizing, Palmer learned from a co-star that tensions remained. In another revelation, Palmer recounts a disturbing incident of racism with a white co-star, whom she refers to by the pseudonym "Brenda". During a disagreement, Brenda reportedly made a racially charged comment, comparing Palmer to Martin Luther King Jr.
Palmer describes the remark as "weighted", but she refused to let it define her narrative, reaffirming her strength and identity. Through these experiences, Palmer emphasizes her resolve to stand firm in her beliefs and navigate the complexities of working in Hollywood. Her memoir not only sheds light on the difficulties she faced on set but also imparts lessons on personal resilience and empowerment.
