Macaulay Culkin's Life Skills Journey: From Childhood Stardom to Learning Basics in Adulthood

Macaulay Culkin

Macaulay Culkin, once renowned as the most famous child actor in the world, has been candid about the basic life skills he missed out on while growing up in the glaring lights of Hollywood. By the age of 12, Culkin had amassed a fortune through roles in iconic films such as "Home Alone", "Uncle Buck", and "My Girl". Despite his millions, the former child star, now 44, skipped learning foundational skills like driving and doing laundry.

According to his fianc, Brenda Song, Culkin lived and grew up in hotels during his peak fame days, an upbringing that left him without the need to master everyday tasks. On a recent appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show", Song shared humorous anecdotes about her partner's learning curve. She revealed that she only began teaching him how to do laundry eight years ago when they started dating, and that he still doesn't know how to drive.

"Mac is a very unique human", Song said, expressing her surprise at Culkin's lack of familiarity with these basic tasks. Her attempts to teach him driving have been filled with trepidation. "I took him out in our neighborhood, and I was terrified", she admitted. "This 44-year-old man driving for the first time? I was like, 'Nope!'"

Song also shared how her own relationship with the classic film "Home Alone" has changed now, as Culkin provides her with behind-the-scenes stories. Despite his reluctance, she insists on watching the film as a holiday tradition.

The couple, who got engaged in January 2022, have two sons, Dakota, 3, and Carson, 2. Song and Culkin's adventures in parenthood add another layer to their endearing relationship. They offer a humorous yet heartwarming reminder of how Culkin, despite his fame, is still learning to navigate the basic skills that many take for granted.
