Sylvester Stallone Reflects on Regretful 1994 Breakup with Jennifer Flavin
Sylvester StalloneIn a recent candid interview with Sean Hannity for his new Fox Nation series, "Sean", Sylvester Stallone opened up about a past relationship decision he deeply regrets. Stallone, 78, who shares a long-lasting love story with his wife Jennifer Flavin, 56, recounted the time he cowardly broke up with her in 1994 by sending a FedEx letter.
The "Rocky" star described the decision as insincere and particularly cowardly, admitting that he lacked the courage to confront Flavin in person. Stallone first met Flavin when she was just 19 and he was 42, and they quickly began dating. However, their relationship hit a major bump when Stallone, in a six-page handwritten letter, confessed to an affair with supermodel Janice Dickinson - a revelation that left Flavin heartbroken.
During the interview, Stallone acknowledged his past mistakes, including how putting his career above personal relationships almost cost him dearly. He explained that at the time, he did not know how to effectively communicate, largely due to his dysfunctional upbringing, which lacked love and proper relationship role models.
Despite the turmoil, the couple reconciled, marrying in 1997, and have since built a family together with three daughters. Reflecting on the breakup, Flavin highlighted the impersonal nature of their split and expressed that she only wished for a conversation, not a plea for him to return.
Their marriage has faced challenges over the years, including a brief divorce filing in 2022, but their bond has proven resilient. Stallone, now more aware of the importance of prioritizing his family, expressed his commitment to never repeating the mistakes of his past, stating that his love for his family takes precedence over his work.
